Naomi Lee Moderick, 80, of Skokie, Illinois died October 11 in Aperion Care of Highwood after a long illness. Loving mother of Mark Segal (Sandee Nudelman), Carin (Jim) Glick and Allen Segal. Doting grandmother of Riky (Casey) Williams, Abbey Segal and Alex Segal. Naomi was also thrilled to be a great-grandmother of Lennon Williams and Riley Martinez. Devoted aunt of Linda (Larry) Barnhart and Michael Erkes. Adored great-aunt of Stephen (Erin) Barnhart, Joanne Barnhart and Lauren (Derrick) Irwin. Naomi was preceded in death by her son, Mark; and by her sister, Renee (Jerry) Erkes; her parents, Louis and Jean Moderick; and her aunt, Katherine “Kitty” Wagner. Naomi was vivacious and outgoing and loved theater and traveling. She was an enthusiastic member of the Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation in Evanston. To those who knew her, Naomi lived her life fearlessly. She will be sorely missed by her family, including many cousins, as well as countless friends she made over the years. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to LUNGevity Foundation, which specializes in research for lung cancer.
